Our commitment to equality informs the way we organise. Quakers make decisions collectively and everyone has a chance to speak. However the way we conduct our business is distinctive – we don’t do “discussion” – and is an important factor in the success of Quakerism.
At Warwick we hold a monthly business meeting – which we see as an extension of our worship. You are very welcome to attend but please, if you are not a member, do speak to one of the clerks beforehand.
Everyone contributes to the way we worship; we grow together. While Quakers can worship anywhere, our communities are usually based around local meetings (Warwick!), which connect to area meetings (Central England Quakers) and national Quaker bodies. Major decisions take place when local meetings combine at the national Yearly Meeting. All our decisions are guided by the insight we receive in stillness.
